I love to cook. But I only get to cook once a week when I'm off from work. Last night, we planned on taking the lil rascal to Dave and Buster's today and maybe eat there as well. But I went to the gym this morning and after getting off I drove to Ralphs and brought some cooked frozen shrimp and vegetables. I was dismayed to find out that the shrimp that I bought was so small, I wish I bought Shrimp at Costco which are more bigger. So we cancelled Dave and Buster's and ate a home cooked meal instead.

Here's how I cook this VEGGIES AND SHRIMPS WITH PORK STEW recipe, I apologize for I don't have the exact measurements, It just depends on how big your pot is.

a bag of shrimps
a tray of pork (cubed)
onions (sliced)
garlic (minced)
potatoes (around 2 or 3)
carrots (around 2 or 3)
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
green beans
oil
pepper
fish sauce
butter
pork and shrimp bouillon (Maggi or Knorr)

I boiled the pork until tender. On the other side, I cooked the shrimp in butter. After the pork is done boiling, I drained the broth and set it aside for the mean time. Then I put the oil, garlic and onions to sautee it for a bit. Added the shrimps, and the rest of the vegetables. Then add the broth and butter. Bring it to a boil. Add in the bouillon cubes, pepper and fish sauce.

Use your best judgment to see if It's ready. enjoy!

Charice's Pyramid

I just found out awhile ago that Charice was the one who sang Pyramid along with Iyaz, pretty awesome if you ask me. She finally has her own album. Hopefully she can go all the way, this is the only start of her dreams. When I first heard this on the radio, I thought it sounded like Jojo, maybe a new artist - didn't expect it to be Charice! Filipinos all around the world are proud of her for following and not stopping to reach her dream. :)

So we bought the New moon DVD today at Wal-mart. I am quite happy, because It's part of my collection, now I have the second one. :) I'm so happy too because my hubby is a die hard fan of the twilight saga, and He was the one who insisted that we buy it right away today. It's so funny... young girls, moms, elderly people, gays, you name it had a copy in their hands as well as their carts. WOW! The first display was emptied right away and people are working their way on the second display hehehe. We just finished watching the special features, so awesome!

Shutter Island

I totally loved it! 10 stars! Martin Scorsese did a good job with it, he was always one of my favorite directors. :) And for Leo Dicaprio himself, bravo! performance well done! I saw it a few days ago and It was such a breathtaking movie. I think It gave me a splitting headache because it left me thinking at the end. No spoilers here, sorry. I suggest you go out and watch it for yourself. I've never read the book, I almost bought it at Wal-mart, too but I told myself It's best if I watched it. I usually read the books before watching the movies, but It's OK - I didn't care anymore. These are the kinds of movies I enjoy watching. I'm still wondering what movie to watch next. Any suggestions?

I logged on to Youtube this morning and checked out the song one less lonely girl by Justin Bieber, I really wanted to see what the hype was all about this young fella. At first I typed in Justin Beaver, no music results for that... So I searched again and got Justine Bieber. I was suprised to see he was white! I'm sooooo sorry, but every time I listened to his music on the air in the mornings driving to work I was picturing he was kinda like... lil Sammie. remember him? LOL I felt kinda awkward afterwards.

Whenever I get disgusting emails I don't eat meat for weeks. Just the thought of it makes me barf, I end up eating noodles, bread, crackers - everything as long as it's not meat, like pork and beef. I received a forwarded message from hubby's aunt and I had to search it on the net: look at THIS.

This will make me think twice whenever I go shopping for food at Wal-mart. eww... I'm not really fond of chinese food, either. (sigh) Because of this, I start to remember again that forwarded email someone had sent me long ago about babies being cooked in China. so shocking... (totally eww..) poor babies. :(

turning back time

I heard my co-workers talking about what ages they first got married. The other one mentioned she got married at 19, and if she ever knew what life she had ahead of her she wouldn't never had married and stayed as an old maid. I got married at 19, too but there are no regrets of whatsoever. I love how my life had turned out and if given the chance to turn back time I would still choose my life that I have right now. God has blessed me with a great husband and a loving child, not to mention my wonderful in-laws. I am very thankful... I may not be a College graduate, sexy, gifted or talented... but there's just a lot of things to be thankful for in our lives. Sometimes we need to stop and think about the positive stuff that God has bestowed upon us instead of looking for the negative ones. Just a thought.

vampire fever

Me and the hubs are so into The Vampire diaries. Since I skipped, I still have a few more episodes to watch and I just finished watching the episode 10 a few minutes ago, so here I am typing away on mr. lappy. I wonder when's the next episode gonna air? talk about addicted hehee. I love my hubby very much, we just love watching the same shows, he's such a best friend :D.
So anyway, I am a Twi-fan and I still made room for another set of vampire drama (LOL). It's been a long time since I had the Twilight fever last year, now I've been sucked into the world of Stefan, Damon and Elena. I love the Cullens very much... but I am so drawn into watching the Salvatore brothers, too - The story really looks a lot like a Twilight rip-off but, hey - ms. LJ SMITH brought these characters into our world back in the early 90's. I guess back then It wasn't really the trend like what we have right now. And there's just so much vampire stories out there, I tried reading Lynsay Sands Argeneau series, It was alright until I stopped then I reached for another book. It was JUST... too sexy for me :P If You know what I mean. ;-)

I'll try my best to read all the vampire diaries books. Plus, watching The show will keep me busy while waiting for the next movie Eclipse that's coming out in June! yay, can't wait.

While I was reading a blog post from somewhere on the net, I came across a blog post about how Ian Somerhalder looks a cross between Chase crawford and Tom Welling. what do you think?

I think he fits Damon pretty well. I hope they would end up having a few more seasons (sigh). :)

Lately, I've been seeing YA (young adult) books popping out everywhere. And it seems like everything is just about Vampires, rich kids, snobby teens, etc... you name it. OK, I love the Twilight saga (blushes) and I've read all books plus the Midnight Sun draft - and I was completely hooked. I had a fever for about... 3 months. I'm starting to watch the Vampire diaries, too and planning on reading the LJ smith The vampire diaries series.

So, What is it with these books that The youngsters nowadays love it so much? I guess It's a trend, most young people have that certain fantasies and when they get into it It's like a world they get into so they can experience the things they really want to do in real life. Unfortunately, The youngsters of our generation gets the wrong message. So most kids are influenced in a way and I think sometimes It's not their fault, The parents also contribute in the way they act. For me, It's not always about "buy me this, buy me that" thing, If you can control your child - DO IT! Don't just give in what they want. Explain the pros and Cons of reading these kinds of books, I'm pretty sure they'll understand. It's great to know that the children of today are into reading, but we have to learn how to balance it out with great non-fictional books to feed their knowledge that will surely benefit them someday.

I remember when I was a kid, the books that I was interested in were The goosebumps by R.L. Stine, The Archie comics and The Nancy drew Mysteries. I wasn't really hooked on reading novels just yet but today, It's amazing how young the kids are who are into YA books. I guess this is the new generation for you. :)

Wow. How long has it been since my last post? I can't believe I broke my promise to update my blogs as much as I can. This is soooo dead. anyhoo, This will be my first post for September on this blog since I am officially off from work. So if you do come once in awhile, expect some updates for days to come.

Is it just me or everybody has already known about this new monster that was discovered last year called the Montauk monster? You know, hoax or not but I'm a believer and a certified skeptic when it comes to weird stuff like these. The world has so much things that we still need to discover. I was reading on Yahoo yesterday about a "new" creature that was beaten to death by a bunch of teens. I did some readings over at Montauk-Monster.com I'm pretty sure there's a great explanation for creatures like these. This video's hilarious, though.

Yesterday, hubby bought a new Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player from best buy, It was sooo cute he told me it was a surprise for me. We had a lil fight this morning but nah I won't elaborate on the details anymore, I guess it was more of my fault, so yeah... anyways, I'm soooo happy because I won't be using my laptop to watch my movies anymore, instead it will be the flat screen! :) I've been on leave from work since the 5th and I am lovin' it! I needed this break very much...

EAGLE EYE

Me and hubby had a simple date today, we went to the dollar movie to see eagle eye! and OH MY GOSH, it was freakin' awesome, I tell ya! I won't inlcude spoilers here (sorry) if you haven't seen it, I suggest you do, Shia is the man! he's one talented kid, even back in his Even Stevens days, just a terrific actor. I also enjoyed him in Transformers and Disturbia, too. This film reminded me of transformers, coz it had those air force guys in it. The secretary of defense (lol) and the running and special effects hoo boy, It was so great! as well as those words that types on the bottom just like in the transformers movie :D. It will keep your adrenaline going, that's for sure. I give it a complete 5 star rating. So far This one and Twilight will be my list of faves. can't wait to get the dvd!!

10.19 Spooky Prompt: Finish this prompt... add as little or as much as you want.
As I lay awake past midnight, I could hear the wind rustling the leaves outside. I suddenly heard a scraping sound at my window..... I suddenly got curious because I'm the person who loves to investigate and see what was going on. I looked closely to the window, nothing there. of course there was nothing there, it's already late and being on the 13th floor who would actually climb that high, right? So I went back to my bed and surely enough I heard the same scraping sound on my window just before I got in bed. I got scared this time because now I see a shadow playing around closely to my curtains somewhat like the Filipino folklore monsters I always read about eversince I was a kid, a half bodied had with bat wings! I couldn't make out the shadow realy well but that's what I thought, I didn't wanna look anymore for my imagination was running wild at that time. so I had the courage to walk up to the window sweating like crazy... and to my surprise as I opened the windows...

a bat flapped open it's wings and flew away! I almost fainted in disbelief but I was so glad it wasn't any one of those folklore monsters I grew up believing in.

Eto ang akin para sa linggong ito. eto lang ang nahanap ko na luma sa mga kagamitan dito sa bahay. litrato ito noong 1987, ang ama ko ang kumuha nito dahil mahilig sya kumuha ng mga litrato gamit nya pa yung camera nyang propesyonal, tama ang sabi ng nanay ko nagmana ako sa ama ko dahil mahilig rin ako kumuha ng litrato. kuha ito sa Old Cabalan, Olongapo City. Kung ikaw ay nag punta na sa Olongapo o di kaya taga Olongapo ka malalaman mo kung saan ang lugar na ito, dahil kuha ito sa itaas lang mismo ng lumang simbahan ng Cabalan. mahal na mahal ko ang lugar na ito dahilan sa maraming magagandang ala ala na rin kahit maliit pa ako. marami rin akong nakilala na mga kalaro dito sa lugar na ito kahit sa saglit na panahon lang. at naalala ko pa yang suot ko na yan ilang beses ko na atang natapunan ng sarit saring mga inumin. kung pupuwede lang sana ibalik ang panahong yun, gagawin ko.

This is my entry for this week. this is the only thing that I found Old among my stuff here at home. This is a picture back in 1987, my father took this one because he loves taking pictures using his professional camera, my mother was right I got my love for photography from my father because I myself love taking pictures. This picture was taken back in Old Cabalan, Olongapo City. If you have been to Olongapo or you've lived there you will know what place that I'm talking about, This was taken just in front of the Old Cabalan Church. I really love this place because I had lots of good memories eventhough I was little. I also had a lot of memories of this place since this is the place where I met a lot of my playmates even in a short time only. and I still remember that dress, oh how many times I've spilled different kinds of drinks on it. If only I can bring back that time, I will do it.

Today I am officially trading my loving Iphone for a blackberry. yes. a blackberry. since hubby bought it for me last AUg. 28th I can't help but notice some negative stuff about it just these past weeks. my SIL was right after all!

Strange behavior (lol) I've noticed so far:

1. It freezes all the time, so you have to reboot it again... and again...
2. I can't hear my voicemail sometimes. it appears black then later on you check it again then the voice messages appear.
3. NO SERVICE. you will get 1, 2 or 5 bars then when you make start to make a call it will suddenly say: NO SERVICE on the top left. sucks.
4. someone is calling but you can't even answer it because the phone is blank! =/

5. One time I thought I had fully charged my phone while at work all of a sudden it tells me that battery is almost 20% so I need to charge it or dismiss. for crying out loud I saw the battery still full! I didn't had my charger with me and I had to spend the whole day at work without my phone being charged.
6. I am having a great time surfing the net then all of a sudden it sends me back to my home screen.
7. It takes a loooong time to load a page, I thought it was faster? it was fast in the first week but after that it sucks now.

so far those are the things I've encountered so far. are there more? I hope you can find something similar here on what you've went through with your iphone 3g. feel free to share!

Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? ...

(09-18_2008) Last night was really something else. There was an incident that happened between 7 to 7:30 pm, one of the leads called me and said that she had caught a thief! and it was one of the baggers, but she would like to know first if the girl was telling the truth before accusing her of theft. I went in to see who it was, and the lead quickly told me to spot check her items because she asked her for a receipt but she said she didn't had any because the cashier didn't give her one, she was in a hurry bagging the stuff (take note: she bagged her own groceries) and according to the lead after seeing her bagging the stuff she quickly went out the door but the lead caught her and asked her for a receipt because no customers or employees in our store can get out without showing us the receipts of their items.

the items in the bag were:

2 chilled soymilk 1/2 gallon size cartons 2 small sealed bags of chicken wings (cooked) one was $2.10 and the other was $6+ 1 tako poke 1 tray of fresh sliced salmon ($7+)

so I called the cashier, a boy 18 yrs of age who rang up the items of the alleged thief. I ran to his register, asked him to shut down and tell me if he DID give a receipt back to the girl bagger, he did gave it to her and the customer in front of him (a samoan lady) also joined in the conversation telling me that she saw the cashier gave the girl her receipt.

I went back to the cash cage and searched for the items and I couldn't believe my eyes... only 3 items were rang up! I was like, uh-oh... I didn't know who to suspect, the cashier or the bagger? or both maybe? the boy has been working for our store over a year or so already and never did he had an incident like that, he was a kind person eventhough his image may look like a baddie with studs in his face, piercings all around and tatoos but never did I suspect him to ever make a mistake like that. I wasn't sure if he was ever in cahoots with that girl bagger, they weren't really that close either. I really didn't know what to say since I didn't see it myself.

We asked the lead to tell the story one more time, the duty manager even came to witness what was happening. according to her, that wasn't the first time she saw it, She let go of it the first time because she said she didn't had any guts and wasn't sure if her hunch was correct. but the 2nd time she didn't let it go because now she proved that she was right! she was reshopping at the time, she went to collect some stuff at the cashier's register, the girl bagger stopped her and said "that's mine, I'm gonna buy that!" so she said ok, the girl bagger was bagging at the time for another customer. what the boy didn't know (just a hucnh) that the girl bagger probably put 1 carton of soymilk, 1 bag of chicken wings (the cheapest one) and the lil tub of tako poke that costs only $7.00 according to the transaction list in our system. she had put the items under the metal stand where the conveyor belt is. We didn't know if the cashier was aware of that. she kept on blabbing away that she was innocent, I knew she was being defensive. her stuff was more than 20 bucks, ok if her balance was $7.00 wouldn't you know right away when paying that there was something wrong with your bill?? that is so messed up, accusing the cashier of not ringing up all the items, how could he if there were only 3 items on the belt? I say she was lying.

I kept on looking at their eyes hoping I would know who the liar is. The general manager of the store was disappointed with them, he asked me to call the MP's. so the police arrived minutes later and discussed it outside customer service while the girl bagger and cashier was being detained inside the office.

I know it was also the cashiers fault because he was supposed to tell off the bagger not to get anything from his side, hello..security purposes! they are not allowed to go beyond the cashier's point, all they gotta do is bag, that's it! and the bagger was claiming she gave $20 worth of ones to the cashier, ok if she did not get the receipt if the cashier hadn't given it to her in the first place, you would be eager to know how much you've spent, right? tell me I'm wrong. that's really baloney! and at least try to get a receipt back because we can always reprint! everything she tells us doesn't really makes any sense at all. one of my workmates in the cash cage told me that girl bagger was also caught the last time but they let her go because they didn't have enough proof, I guess. She once again pleaded innocent of the charges against her and kept on telling the cashier that he didn't give her a receipt. I guess the boy was speechless, he wasn't being defensive or anything, all he said to her that he gave her a receipt and that's it. it was just the opposite. first of all, I wouldn't think he would do any stupid stuff like that to jeopardize his work. he has a federal job, he makes good money at our store better than any job outside who pays for $7.25 an hour, he wouldn't do anything like that.

after another 30 minutes talking to the Police, the manager made a decision to the Police to arrest them. later on, we heard from the lead that she finally told the Police that some of the items were bought earlier but she didn't have the receipt for it! OMG, this is incredible. she made another alibi to cover her butt. I mean, hello when you have a story to tell, you must stick to one story only, do not add anything to it to make it worse, coz the cops will definitely see that you are lying big time.

And how sad, the girl bagger is a military dependent, her hubby's active duty, although she has marriage issues soon going into a divorce but living in with a fellow bagger who at the same time still married and has kids of his own. tsk tsk, how sad. I just had to write this down just in case I need it the next time, It's good to take down notes, you know it'll be handy in the future. so let me know what you think, you be the judge!

So Mitch asks, “When did you find out that your partner snores? Was it annoying or tolerable?”

A: The first time I knew that he snores was when I slept at their house one night, and because we usually sleep at my mother in law's bedroom I was kinda surprised coz it was really over the top loud! but my MIL explained to me that he is like his father who snores a lot and in a very loud way. I wasn't turned off or anything, at first I had a hard time sleeping but then I got used to it and sometimes I don't really mind if he snores, it makes me sleep real good, too. it really depends though if he's really tired, based on observation if he comes home really worked out and exhausted then I'll expect his snores to be loud, but usually if he's not that tired he sleeps peacefully like a baby.

I'm right here in front of my laptop, (looks at the time) 6:22 am and I'm still wondering what to do. I just had to make an update. I can't believe how time flies, I broke my promise of making daily posts, but whatever that's ok. I have to pause my lil project here since school is just weeks away! so happy for my lil boy, got all of his stuff ready, thank God. the only thing missing are manila folders, can't miss that. I know I have some left overs of that somewhere in the house. well, I gotta go for now, see ya later, guys!

This is such a beautiful meme, just in time for father's day indeed. Well, today's father's day, and since I wasn't tagged thought I'd snagged it and post it here, I would really, really love to brag about my hubby as a great father. how about you? who's the great father you wanna brag about?

My husband is a great father. he's a simple guy and does not wear a lot of jewelry either. he's not fond of shopping for expensive stuff, he's an adventurous guy but he's more of a home and work person, but he loves to shop... for food! that's one of his weaknesses. He's a great guy, funny and loves to joke around. he'll put a smile on your face, he may look uptight but he's a real down to earth person, very humble. he cares about a lot of people, he's a loveable guy, he helps out around the house whenever he can eventhough he is exhausted from work. I admire him very much for he can give his 110%, he'll do whatever it takes just so he can provide for our family. he loves the simple life, he loves to spoil us, not with material things but with the simple things like LOVE and CARE, that's why we love him very much. The routine!

It's a family tradition every night to watch some FRIENDS dvd's, we all love the show friends, I didn't really get to appreciate it until I met hubby back in 2002, eversince I watched a few shows I was totally hooked! our dvd collection is complete thanks to Walmart for selling the complete seasons for $19.99 each! yayy!

My sister-in-law and her kids are hooked, too. I don't think we'll ever get bored with that show. there are lots of scenes that we really like, for example the Routine, we just finished watching it and I thought I'd post it over here. so hilarious!

If not, what would your ideal wedding be like?+ I had a simple wedding, nothing compares the feeling marrying the man you truly love. reception was done at Golden Dragon chinese restaurant at Subic along with close family friends who shared and contributed some things in our lives..

8. What’s the most romantic thing that’s ever happened to you?+ hubby took me to the beach one night after having dinner at the coffee shop. and in just a span of a week, he asked me to marry him! it was kinda like a joke but he was serious at that time.

9. What’s your favorite girl’s name?+ We had some plans for girl names like Ana Natashia, Ana Renee or Ana Catalina. hubby's sisters all had Ana's in their names as well as the daughter, too. because hubby's other sister died in an accident when they were teenagers my hubby wants it as a tradition to have our daughters to have Ana's in their names as well in memory of his sister.

10. What’s your favorite boy’s name?+ I always liked the Name Nathan, derived from the name of hubby: DoNATo.

11. Which celebrity would you like a dream date with?+ Adam Sandler, he's such a funny guy plus me and hubby enjoys all of his movies. hehee =D

12. Which female celebrity do you find beautiful?+ same here, Angelina Jolie. She has everything, fame, wealth, beauty, brains plus she helps a lot of kids around the world, wish all celebrities would trash their hubbies of spending worthless stuff and do some good causes for a change.

13. Which male celebrity do you think is attractive?+ There's a lot of them, I may say.

14. What is your best character trait? + friendly. enough said.

What is up with reality shows these days? It's hard keeping up with these kinds of shows, I'm starting to get sick of it. but sometimes I can't help but watch. BOO. ask yourself, can you help yourself? because somehow it's fun watching these celebrities get into all kinds of crap, it's like showing the world they ain't just about glitter and gold. what's so funny about it are the SIBLINGS who follow the footsteps of dear big sister or dear big brother. Now, it's Lindsay's mom and lil sister Ali. Living Lohan Reality Show. I hope she doesn't get into rehab like her sister Lindsay. Look at what happened with other famous celebs as well as their siblings because of too much attention. I don't know. fame can sometimes kill you. It's like a drug. Well, I can't wait to see the new show, see what it's like.

I enjoy all kinds of reality shows like survivor, you know anything that has sense. I hate watching all kinds of reality shows that involves teeny whiney brats screaming at their parents to buy them whatever they want, so freakin' messed up those kids should be taught a lesson or two. I guess it's because of the parent's, too who doesn't lead by a good example of being great parents. I really don't see how they can live by themselves when mommy and daddy aren't there to shelve more money down their lil hands. pathetic.

but that's the wonder of reality shows. so there. just a piece of my mind.

This song is stuck in my head thanks to that Barney show hehee. my son loves Barney, back then when I was in high school I usually catch a glimpse of the Barney shows, who would've thought that the 2 cute kids on their cast will have their own shows someday? I'm talking about Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. They're pretty awesome, my son loves to watch Disney Channel and is eager to watch Camp Rock movie on Disney that's coming up, and the music "We rock" is stuck in my head, too hahaa! reminds me of "High school musical" and "Jump in" I have earworms almost every single day, can you believe that?? I'm pretty sure if you're a mom you know what I'm talking about.

I enjoy watching these stars grow, and I visit their vlogs, too. like this one.

I'm proud to be a mom to my 2 boys (lol)

Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed."
She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.
Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.
She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button.
She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.
She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry.
She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.
She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.
Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.
Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed." "I'm on my way," she said.
She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.
She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.
In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.
About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed."
And he did...without another thought.
Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...? CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... (and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)

Get out your Kleenex before reading this... A good reminder: take time to appreciate what you have now. On the last day before Christmas, I hurried to go to the supermarket to buy the gifts I didn't manage to buy earlier. When I saw all the people there, I started to complain to myself: 'It is going to take forever here and I still have so many other places to go...' Christmas really is getting more and more annoying every year. How I wish I could just lie down, go to sleep and only wake up after it was over. I started to curse the prices, wondering if kids really play with such expensive toys. While looking in the toy section, I noticed a small boy of about 5 years old pressing a doll against his chest. He kept on touching the hair of the doll and looked so sad. I wondered who this doll was for. Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: 'Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?' The old lady replied: 'You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.' Then she asked him to stay here for 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I started to walk towards him and asked who he wanted to give this doll to. 'It is the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for this Christmas. She was so sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.' I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus will bring it to her, after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can not bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mother so that she can give it to her when she goes there.' His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My sister has gone to be with God. Daddy say that Mummy will also go to see God very soon, so I thought that she could bring the doll with her to give it to my sister'. My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mummy not to go yet. I asked him to wait until I come back from the supermarket' Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me: 'I also want mummy to take this photo with her so that she will not forget me.' 'I love my mummy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and took a few bills and said to the boy. What if we checked again, just in case if u have enough money?' 'Ok' he said. 'I hope that I have enough.' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll, and even some spare money. The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money' then he looked at me and added: 'I asked yesterday before I slept for God to make sure I have enough money to buy this doll so that mummy can give it to my sister. He heard me' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mummy, but I didn't dare to ask God too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and the white rose.' 'You know, my mummy loves white roses A few minutes later, the old lady came again and I left with my trolley. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article 2 days ago, which mentioned of a drunk man in a truck who hit a car where there was one young lady and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-assisting machine, because the young lady would not be able to get out of the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy in mind, I read in the newspaper that the young lady had passed away.I couldn't stop myself and went to buy a bunch of white roses and I went to the mortuary where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wish before burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place crying, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that this little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to that day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk man had taken all this away from him.
